For week 3 of The Bachelor, Sarah and I had a special guest, my friend Lauren. You may remember the infamous Lauren from posts such as Chocolate Marshmallow Madness Cupcakes, Lauren’s Quick and Easy Popcorn, and of course, Jelly Muffnuts.
Sarah came up with both of our dish puns this week, so shoutout to my work wife!
Poutine Up with Corrine
At this point, I think we all know why Nick is keeping Corrine around. Hint, it’s not their intellectually stimulating conversations.
Corrine makes The Bachelor interesting. Her immaturity and I’m-not-here-to-make-friends attitude fuel the early season drama, and I love it.
While it has been entertaining, I look forward to the day Nick kicks her off. In the meantime, we’re all just “poutine” up with Corinne.
Sarah made the vegetarian gravy for her poutine with carrots, onion, vegetable broth, and an ridiculously amazing blend of seasonings. I’ll work on weakening her until she reveals her secret recipe for a dedicated blog post. In the meantime, check out this vegetarian gravy.
We baked the fries in the oven. When they were done we topped them with the gravy along with some sliced up fresh mozzarella and stuck them in the oven a little longer until the cheese melted.
I don’t know what I love more, Chris Harrison or Brussels sprouts. With Crisp Harrison, aka roasted Brussels sprouts, I don’t have to choose!
To make these, I tossed about a pound of Brussels with 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, and 1/2 tablespoon honey. I roasted them at 425/450-ish for 20 minutes.
We’re having a blast coming up with puns (we seriously can’t stop), so if you have any suggestions, leave them in the comments below.
