DERMA E Hydrating Night Cream Review

DERMA E Hydrating Night Cream

What a curse it is to have combination skin. Not only do you have to deal with dry, patchy flakes, but you also have to combat an oily t-zone. Yep. Fun stuff!

Finding a balance for my skin has been an ongoing battle. Every now and then I add a new skin care product to my rotation, and when it’s love, it’s love for life.

DERMA E has sent me quite a few items to try over the last year, but nothing has stood out quite as much as their Purifying 2-in-1 Charcoal Mask and the DERMA E Hydrating Night Cream.

You may notice that I’m typing uppercase DERMA E instead of derma e, and Night Cream instead of Creme. I just found out this week that DERMA E is getting a “face lift” and updating their product packaging. With that update comes a new brand name text treatment and a few tweaks here and there to product names.

My Experience

New skin care products always make me nervous. I have sensitive skin that’s never totally happy, and I hate to upset the balance. Since my skin is combo and this is recommended for dry, dehydrated skin, I didn’t know if it would be a match.

I started using this at night. What I noticed immediately was the consistency. It feels thick and rich, but it smooths over the skin flawlessly and absorbs without leaving a residue on the skin.

It is lightly scented with Plumeria Blossom Fragrance, and I love it. It’s light and gentle, and it has the same calming effect on me as lavender.

In the summer and fall I used this every other night or so and saw a dramatic reduction in the dry patches around the edge of my face. In the winter I plan to use this every single night to avoid dehydration.

My only complaint is the fact that the moisturizer comes in a jar. I don’t like dipping my fingers into my products, it’s just not sanitary in my mind. Since I apply this after washing my face, it isn’t a deal breaker.

Final Thoughts

DERMA E Hydrating Night Cream ($29.50) is a wonderful nighttime moisturizer. This is the first time I’ve had a great night cream option that gives me just the right amount of moisture.
