I didn’t accomplish half of what I set out to do in 2014, but priorities change, life happens, and that’s ok with me because this year I did so many things that weren’t on my radar last December. I bought my first house. I joined a gym (and used my membership). I hiked 9 miles at Mount Falcon Park. I got engaged, though that took very little effort on my part.
Instead of setting my normal S.M.A.R.T. goals, I’m going more of the vague “resolution” route. Join me.
Find new ways to be fit while having fun. I’ve been enjoying my time doing cardio mainly because I plan my workouts around TV #8 at my gym, HGTV. That might sound silly, but so what? It keeps me motivated, and it gives me plenty of inspiration for home decor. No shame.
Turn my house into a home. Xavier and I have made some serious progress in our living room, but our walls are still bare throughout the house. A few things I have in mind for the house: find or make a table for the entryway, hang my IKEA Mongstad Mirror in the dining room, buy patio furniture, swap out the hardware on the kitchen cabinets.
Take a trip. Traveling to Los Angeles was such a blast, and it was nice to get away from work and my everyday routine. It was a good reminder that life is so much more than a 9-5. Even a staycation here in Colorado would be great.
Continue downsizing and decluttering. After cleaning out my belongings, packing, and unpacking I still find myself with way to many things in my life. I’ve come up with a system for cleaning out my closet, and now I just have to stick to it.
Plan my wedding. Xavier and I have been engaged since August, and the furthest we’ve gone with planning is coming up with a guest list. At least it’s something. Now we need to nail venue, date, and all the fine details. No big deal.
Those are just a few of the things that have been on my mind lately. It’s a good start, and I’m eager to see what else I’ll accomplish in 2015. Endless possibilities.
