PHAMExpo (Professional Hair and Makeup Exposition) was June 28-29 in Pasadena, California. Xavier and I attended as part of our free trip to LA, because if you can’t tell, I’m kind of obsessed with makeup. Here’s what I purchased throughout the day and their full retail value.
Static Nails “French Twist” – Reusable, Paintable, Shapeable Press On Nails $14
Press on nails are not normally something I’d go for, but these seemed unique in that you can reuse them and shape them to fit your style, so I thought I’d give them a go and write a review. Stay tuned!
Makeup Geek Blush – Bliss $9.99
Makeup Geek Eyeshadow (left to right) – Homecoming, Twilight, Moondust, Last Dance, Cinderella $5.99
The Lime Crime booth was incredible. For having such a small, focused product line, they really promoted themselves quite well.
Lime Crime Velvetines – Red Velvet $20
This seriously looks like velvet, it’s incredible, and it’s a perfect blue-red.
Lime Crime Opaque Lipstick – Geradium $18
I’ve been really into reds lately, so I decided to grab a hot pink lipstick to try something a little different. Very Barbie.
OCC Lip Tar – Psycho and Kava Kava $18
The Inglot table was a lot of fun. Their freedom palette system means everything is in a magnetized pan waiting to be adding to your magnetized palette. No need to depot!
Inglot Eye Shadow – 30, 405, 49, 405, 329 $7
Everyone raves about the Brow Wiz, so why not? Taupe, the consultant told me, is what was formerly known as Ash Blonde.
Shoutout to their rep, I don’t remember his name, but he was friendly and and not too overbearing as some tradeshow sales consultants can be.
So that’s it for all the goodies I purchased. I went in with a budget of $200, and I spent just under that with all of the show discounts. I wish I had saved my receipts so I could tell you exactly what I paid for each item, but I didn’t think of it in the moment. All I know is I went in with $200 cash and came out with less than $10 left. Total retail value of everything I purchased is $236.94.
Now on to all of the great people I met!
Marlena of Makeup Geek was a joy to meet- so kind and gracious to all her fans!
And, oh my gosh, Pixiwoo! If you don’t subscribe to their channel, you need to. They are incredible makeup artists, and you will learn so much technique in a single video.
And of course, many thanks to my amazing photograph, Xavier! He dutifully followed me around all day snapping pictures and didn’t complain once. Major points.
PHAMExpo was such a blast, I definitely recommend it if you’re looking to stock up with all of the great show deals. Who knows, you may see me there next year!
