Use an Area Rug to Add a Pop of Color

Xavier and I just moved into a three bedroom rental home, which didn’t seem that big until we realized, “Oh wait.. we don’t have any furniture.” Suddenly the house seemed enormous! How are we going to fill all of these rooms? And more importantly for me, how are we going to decorate all this space?

Since we’re living in a rental, we can’t paint the walls, which is a huge bummer. There’s always curtains and linens to add a pop of color to a room, but I wanted something more. After pouring through the latest Ikea catalog and HGTV’s website, I realized a bright-colored or bold-patterned rug can make a great statement and add personality to a room, whether it’s a bedroom , a living space, or an office.

These are some of my top finds.

Take a picture when you pick out yours! I know our big family room came together in a cozy way when we added our rug.
