I signed up for Julep Maven because of their introductory offer. Your first box only costs a penny! Use the code COLORS2012. They had this promo not too long ago, and I had wanted to sign up, but I found out too late. Luckily, they brought it back!
Julep Maven is a nail polish subscription service. Unlike other monthly services, you’re not paying for samples. You’re paying for either three full-size Julep polishes or two full-size Julep polishes and a Julep mani/pedi care product. The service is $20 a month. You’re matched with a beauty profile based on your answers to their style quiz. Each beauty profile gets a different set of products each month. Don’t like your profile? You can switch! The best part is that you get to preview your box before you decide to either switch profiles or opt-out for the month.
Charlotte – Demure lavender creme. This applied opaque with only one coat (!!!). I don’t own a single purple polish, and this is perfect for the spring season. After trying this I am very curious to try their other creme colors.
Jodie – Deep rose with golden shimmer. Gorgeous, gorgeous color. It’s not as unique as the other two I received, but I do love it. It takes two coats.
Melissa – Sheer opalescent shimmer creates a soft glow when used alone of a holographic effect when used over another color. If you use this by itself, you will have quite the time trying to get this to be opaque. Since I’m not one for sheer color, I recommend using this on top of another color. Below you can see it swatched over purple, white, and black. It is a little streaky, so I recommend applying two thin coats on top of whatever color you’re using.
