|Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in “Peach Satin”|
I’ve wanted to try the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes for a few weeks, but after checking Walmart and the drugstore, I couldn’t find it anywhere. Today I came across a few at my grocery store, which normally has a terrible beauty selection. Surprise, surprise. I wanted Candy Coral after seeing swatches on Olivia Frescura, but Peach Satin spoke to me.
Maybelline describes this as a powder-gel formula. It’s a very interesting texture. I wouldn’t quite agree with the term “bouncy,” but it is soft and light. It’s very sheer, which has been a point of contention among beauty bloggers. It’s so sheer that I tried applying it to my cheeks and taking a picture, but it just didn’t show in the photos. It is light and natural looking, but as it sets into the skin it fades away.
On first impression, I’m pleased with the color but disappointed by the longevity. Like Olivia suggested, I find myself apply the blush to my cheeks directly from the container and then blending, because I feel like I lose a lot of product on my fingers. I don’t feel like this product will last very long, because it takes so much to get the color I want.
I think this product is a good concept, but I’m glad I only picked up one. Worth a try, but I know this won’t be a drugstore favorite.
