“Nature Girl…for a look that’s understatedly sexy and gloriously “undone” – a new collection of nothing-to-hide hues. Soft shades, rich patinas and sheer loveliness. Just what you need to keep your look dreamily down to earth!”
I thought I would be excited for the MAC Naturally collection until I saw that it featured mineralize eyeshadows, which have never been a favorite of mine. I loved the lipstick shades, but I need lip products like I need a hole in the head. I went to Dillards to swatch the shadows anyway (dangerous, I know). I really thought I’d like “In the Sun” and “Summer Haze,” but neither struck my fancy. Instead, “Cloudy Afternoon” really caught my eye.
It applies like a light silvery-grey color with a frosty finish that looks great on top of a paint pot or cream shadow. The mineralize eye shadows do have a lot of shimmer, but this is a wearable, everyday color for people with fair skin.
Summer Haze was pretty, but not really unique. In the Sun had a grainy consistency. When I swatched it the texture wasn’t as smooth as the others. The shimmer in the mineralize shadows makes it hard to blend without a lot of fallout. That’s why I really like Cloudy Afternoon. It’s a great lid color, so you won’t have to blend too much, if at all.
