Everyone has their own makeup staples, whether it’s a favorite mascara or eyeliner that you can’t seem to live without. Benefit Cosmetics’s Creaseless Cream Eyeshadows have become staples in my collection, and I wear one of them almost every day.
These are much closer to a MAC Paint Pot than the new MAC Big Bounce Shadow in both consistency, texture, and longevity. They are wearable on their own or as a color base for powder shadow.
I started out by trying Birthday Suit because it was a safe, neutral color, and I knew I would probably get a lot of use out of it. Little did I know when I picked this up that it would become my most-used makeup product, next to my primer of course. Benefit describes this shade as a “brushed chrome,” but I would call it a champagne. It looks great on its own or with eyeshadow on top.
Next I purchased Skinny Jeans at the recommendation of Makeup By Tiffany D. Benefit describes this as a “pretty pewter.” You can spread it thin or layer it up for a smokey eye. The color reminds me of MAC Smoke & Diamonds. I layer on darker shadows for a going out look, or I use a neutral shadow on top to lighten the color. This is a very versatile shade.
Last week I purchased Get Figgy, which is described as a “frosted heather.” I didn’t even know heather was a color, but to me this looks like a frosted mauve. It’s a gorgeous shade, and I think I will get a lot of use out of it this summer. I chose Get Figgy because I wanted to get away from the neutrals and pick a color with a little punch.
I apply the colors with my finger, not a brush. They last up to 12 hours without creasing, but I’m sure this depends on skin type and the amount of product used. I usually apply one this layer on the lid, blending up to the brow bone, and then put on a second layer just on the lid.
